Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer insists the club is not yet safe from relegation until it is mathematically impossible for them to drop down.
The 10th-placed Cottagers moved to 40 points after the weekend's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa but that does not necessarily mean they have staved off relegation according to the Australian veteran.
"The last couple of weeks we've been sitting on 39 points and people have been saying that we're safe," he told the club's official website.
"But we knew that, mathematically, we weren't safe, and we're still not mathematically safe so it's always positive, from a psychological point of view, to get to 40 points, and we'll kick on from there.
"As far as I'm concerned, and with what experience tells you, you're never out of relegation trouble until you're mathematically safe, and that's still the case with us."
