Fulham reject Wigan offer for Brown

Fulham have reportedly turned down an undisclosed bid from Wigan Athletic for midfielder and captain Michael Brown.

Brown, who joined the Cottagers from Tottenham in January 2006, was an integral part of the Fulham side last season as he made 34 Premiership appearances.

But the arrival of Lawrie Sanchez as boss in April cast doubt over the future of several players and it is thought the former Northern Ireland chief would be willing to listen to offers for 30-year-old Brown.

It is unclear how much the Latics have bid but it is thought around £1.5million could be enough to secure his services and a fresh offer from Latics boss Chris Hutchings is likely next week.
