Fulham have been alerted to Behrang Safari's availability from FC Basel.
The Sweden fullback will leave his Swiss club in the summer.
Safari has now told his club he's ready to let his contract run down, paving the way for a free transfer to Craven Cottage in the summer.
Cottagers boss Mark Hughes has had Safari watched this season.
