Fulham players confident over new manager arrival

Clint Dempsey hopes Fulham's next manager can lift the confidence of the dressing room.

The USA international attacker told fulhamfc.com: "It's important that the guy that comes in can instil confidence in the players and help get us out of the situation. No one ever wants to be in the bottom three. You want to be in the best position you can be in. Unfortunately this is the situation we are in and all we can do is keep fighting and make sure we get out."

Cottagers teammate Danny Murphy also said: "I'm sure the board will pick the best possible candidate. The hierarchy will be doing everything they can to make sure next Manager in place takes the Club forward ad keeps us in the Premier League because primarily that's the aim.

"We've been told that Ray and Billy, who were great on Saturday, are doing the job on a game-by-game basis. The lads are happy with the temporary choice of Manager.

"We've got to kick on and not dwell on the past. We're still here as players and we want to make sure this Club says in the Premier League and that's what we're all aiming to do."
