Fulham defender Chris Baird is facing a disciplinary rap after a fight with team-mate Jimmy Bullard, reports The Mirror.

Midfielder Bullard - only recently back from injury - was left with a swollen nose after the altercation with the Northern Ireland right-back in training on Thursday.

Bullard reacted furiously after being left on the ground when the pair came together.

The two players then had a shouting match and team-mates had to intervene to prevent tensions boiling over any further.

A spokesman for the Premier League strugglers played down the incident, insisting: "There is nothing in it. It lasted a few minutes and it's the sort of thing that happens every day.

"It is such a non-story and it must be a slow news day if this is an issue."
