Fulham plan bid for Reading keeper McCarthy

Fulham boss Martin Jol is planning a £4 million bid for Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.

The Mirror says McCarthy, 23, could be tempted to leave the Madejski Stadium to pursue his dream of an England call-up.

And boss Martin Jol is eying the Three Lions Under-21 ace to replace Mark Schwarzer at Craven Cottage. However, the Cottagers are likely to face competition from Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers, who is a big fan of McCarthy.
