New Fulham owner Shahid Khan insists he's happy with Martin Jol as manager.

Jol has taken his squad to Costa Rica for pre-season training - and Khan will fly to Central America to speak to him.

Khan said: "I have not met him but I will meet him. I'm planning on going to Costa Rica this week.

"This transaction happened in the last day and the team had already left, so I haven't had a chance.

"Everyone speaks very highly of him and his reputation proceeds him. I would just like to understand. He knows a lot more about football than I do. I would just like to understand what the plan is."

Billionaire Khan, a Pakistani-born American, who made his fortune from supplying auto parts, says he "hopes" Jol will start next season in charge.
