Fulham have opened new contract talks with defender Aaron Hughes.

The Northern Irishman made 29 appearances for the Whites last season but is in the final 12 months of his current deal in SW6.

Cottagers manager Martin Jol is keen to keep hold of the 32-year-old and the Fulham Chronicle says the two parties have begun negotiations about extending his stay at the club.
