Panathinaikos midfielder Gilberto Silva is keen on a January return to England.

The former Arsenal midfielder, 34, is at Greek side Panathinaikos but is a £1.5million target for Fulham and Newcastle.

A pal of the World Cup-winning Brazilian told The Sun: "Gilberto and his family loved London and can see themselves settling down there after his retirement.

"He'd love to go back to the Premier League and Gerard Houllier at Villa may also get involved."
