Fulham must stop Southampton's Lambert says Niemi

Former Fulham and Southampton goalkeeper Anttii Niemi says Fulham must find a way to stop goal-machine Rickie Lambert if they are to claim all three points when his previous employers meet on Sunday.

Niemi told the Fulhamofficial website: "Lambert is the obvious threat for Fulham on Sunday, he's been absolutely fantastic, scoring four times in six games already.

"He's a big, physical player who finishes really well so I think Brede Hangeland and Mark Schwarzer will have to be on their toes this weekend."

When asked where his loyalties lie since he hung up his boots in 2010, the Finnish keeper chose to sit on the fence.

"It's really difficult for me and I just hope it's a cracking game that ends in a 3-3 draw," he added. "I want to see lots of goals, excitement and a draw to make me happy! That's my wish!"
