Fulham move for Copenhagen's Hangeland

Fulham are set to land FC Copenhagen defender Brede Hangeland.

Hangeland joined Copenhagen from Viking Stavangar in 2006 and is under contract with the club until 2009.

During his time at Viking he was coached by new Fulham boss Roy Hodgson and a reunion now appears to be on the cards.

Reports in Norway claim that the Premier League strugglers are willing to pay £3.5million for the centre-half, who has previously attracted interest from the likes of Newcastle United and Aston Villa.

The 26-year-old is thought to be undergoing a medical in London ahead of completing a move to the Cottagers.

Hodgson is starting to step up his plans to strengthen Fulham's squad after also agreeing a fee to sign striker Marlon King from Watford.
