Fulham midfielder Steve Sidwell has no regrets over his move from Reading to Chelsea.

Sidwell quit Reading for Jose Mourinho's Chelsea back in 2007.

Sidwell said: “When I was at Arsenal I had to make a decision when Arsene Wenger told me I wouldn’t get much of a chance with Patrick Vieira and Emmanuel Petit in the middle of the park. Reading came in and I decided to go there.

“Mr Wenger was honest with me and Reading offered me a platform to go to the next level.

“But you don’t turn Chelsea down, especially when Mourinho comes along and says he wants you.”
