Fulham midfielder Oliver Norwood: Leaving Man Utd was right decision

Fulham midfielder Oliver Norwood has no regrets leaving Manchester United.

Norwood is on-loan at Fulham from Brighton and is preparing for the Championship play-off final against Aston Villa.

He recalled to The Sun: “I was at United during the golden years when it was Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, the Nevilles, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Anderson, Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, Nani.

“In the reserves we won every game, every trophy, it was easy. In the real world it's not like that.

“You've got the tag of coming out of Manchester United and everyone expects great things and it takes time to find your feet when you come out of there.

“It was never a burden but I think people expect you to be a lot better than you are!

“You make mistakes as young players. I've said some silly things in the past. I was criticised for performances at Huddersfield but when I look back I probably was crap!

“You learn to shoulder a lot of it and coming out of that bubble you deal with it."
