Fulham have made a second bid for Wigan Athletic defender Paul Scharner.

The Cottagers saw their opening offer rejected last week, but haven't been discouraged by Steve Bruce's 'hands-off' warning.

It's thought Fulham's improved bid is £3m, a slight increase, but is still unlikely to be enough to tempt Latics, says the Wigan Evening Post.
