Fulham are planning a revamp of Craven Cottage so they can increase the venue's capacity to 30,000.
The Southwest London stadium holds just under 26,000 and the Cottagers are keen to boost that by overhauling the current site.
There were premature talks about a new purpose-built stadium but it is clear that Fulham want to remain on the banks of the Thames and are currently going through the application process to redevelop the Riverside stand.
"The application will take the club's current capacity to 30,000 seats and further significant funds will be invested to open up the Thames River walk from Hammersmith to Putney for the first time in recent history.""Fulham Football Club today submitted an application to the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, for the redevelopment of the Riverside stand at its Craven Cottage home," read a statement on the club's official website.
