Fulham keeper Stockdale: Magath would be good Yorkshireman

Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale feels manager Felix Magath would be well suited to Yorkshire.

Stockdale attributes his parents' attitude to their Yorkshire roots and thinks that Magath would fit in well up North.

The keeper revealed: "My mum and dad came to Villa. Afterwards dad said 'Good win that'. And that was it. Thanks!

"It was mum's birthday and I said, 'Happy Birthday mum, there's your three points' - she just replied 'It means nothing if you don't win next week.'

"That's the Yorkshire way. Dad has told me to shut up and get on with it.

"The boss is like that too. He told us it's no good us winning at Villa if we don't carry it on.

"The gaffer doesn't give much away, that's for sure. He's just made us realise that we will only be rewarded by hard work.

"I think he would get on well with my dad - he seems to have a Yorkshire attitude too!"
