Fulham keeper Stockdale: Hodgson right man for England

Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale is happy former manager Roy Hodgson won the England job.

Stockdale played for Hodgson while he was in charge of the Cottagers.

"I think he deserved to get the job," Stockdale told fulhamfc.com. "Roy did such a great job here [at Fulham] and he took us to the Europa League Final -we were only a matter of minutes away from a penalty shoot-out. I'm really pleased for him and I look forward to watching him lead England at the Euros.

"Of course Ray [Lewington] is there too and he's another one who is a fantastic coach. I don't think I've ever spoken to anyone in the game who has a bad word to say about him, either the way he is as a person or his coaching ability. The same is true of Roy too and he proved that by showing what he could do when he was here."
