Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer insists spirit inside the Australia camp is as strong as ever. Schwarzer has been criticised by an unidentified teammate in an email published in the Sydney press last week for his support of Everton star Tim Cahill over a nightclub controversy.

"It's water off a duck's back for me but wherever it's coming from, there's obviously other agendas there," Schwarzer said yesterday. "I can't understand the reason behind it but I'm really not bothered about it."

Schwarzer said he hadn't seen the email and wondered whether it had been fabricated.

"I was very surprised to see the report and I doubt very much whether the email even exists. Perhaps it was made up completely, I don't know," he said. "We'll just have to wait and see what happens from here.

"The team harmony is top notch, the guys have done extremely well to get through the campaign as successfully as they did," he said. "We couldn't have made it look as easy as it was - even if it wasn't that easy in truth - if we weren't so closely knit with one another. I've never sensed any problems inside the team. Not at all."
