Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer says retirement is the furthest thing from his mind.
Schwarzer revealed how a chat with a fellow old-timer, Spurs' Brad Friedel, convinced him he can continue to frustrate opponents for years to come - and at least until the 2014 World Cup.
The Aussie international said: "Brad is older than me but he has told me he'll play for at least two more seasons. So I have to at least match that.
"There's no deadline as far as club football is concerned but my goal in international football is to get to the World Cup in Brazil.
"I like to set myself goals and the international scene is going very well. We have qualified for the next stage with a game in hand and the national team manager Holger Oseick wants me to continue to play.
"I realised quite a while ago what a great life I've got.
"You have to be realistic and realise how privileged we are to play football for a living - especially at this level, in the Premier League, the best in the world, and I love it.
"The longer you go on the more I enjoy it, the more I look after myself, the more I train and as long as that is still working well and I am performing well I will keep playing."
Schwarzer quit Middlesbrough to join Fulham three years ago on a free.
And the Aussie admits to loving life in West London. He said: "I am enjoying my football now more than any time in my career. Moving down south three years ago gave me a new lease of life.
"I loved every minute at Middlesbrough. But it was time for a change."
