Fulham are pushing for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent.

The Daily Mail says the Cottagers remain hopeful of beating Newcastle United to the signing of Bent.

The west London side bid £6m for Bent, but Newcastle are also keeping tabs on the England international as his days at Villa seem to be numbered.

It has already been a busy summer for Fulham with the takeover by Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan as well as a number of new signings, including Maarten Stekelenburg and Fernando Amorebieta.
