Fulham hero Barry Hayles is backing Roy Hodgson for success at Craven Cottage.

Hayles, who scored 57 goals in his time in west London, said: "He is a very good coach who has got all the badges and has been around the world building up a very impressive CV.

"Roy didn't have a great time at Blackburn, but he's managed clubs like Inter Milan.

"He'll have a significant impact, especially on the foreign players, who might understand him more than someone like Lawrie Sanchez."
