Fulham defeat will spell end for Spurs boss Jol

Martin Jol won't survive the axe should Tottenham lose to Fulham this weekend.

The Mirror says Jol has earned himself a stay of execution from the Tottenham board after his side's unlucky defeat at Manchester United. But defeat at Fulham on Saturday would probably spell the end for Jol despite last week's vote of confidence.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, impressed by the attitude and efforts of the team at Old Trafford, was keen to reassure Jol that he retains board support despite the club's flirtation with Sevilla's Juande Ramos.

But the Dutchman has had it spelled out that the board expects to see "ongoing progress" in the coming games as Tottenham seek to climb the table and challenge for a top four position.
