Fulham confirm departure of managing director McNally

Fulham have confirmed the departure of managing director David McNally amid reports linking him with a role at Arsenal.

McNally moved to Fulham in 2005 following a successful spell with Celtic and he has now decided to leave Craven Cottage.

A statement on Fulham's official website read: "David McNally, managing director of Fulham Football Club, has today commenced six months notice of termination of employment, and will meanwhile cease all his duties and responsibilities with immediate effect.

"Pending the appointment of a new managing director, Mr McNally's responsibilities will be shared between a number of senior employees, under the day-to-day direction of Chris Bailey."

Speculation suggested last month that Arsenal had targeted McNally as a possible replacement for Keith Edelman.

McNally is believed to be highly regarded within the corridors of Emirates Stadium after playing a key role in Fulham's Premier League survival last season.
