Fulham want to bring Groningen defender Andreas Granqvist back to England.
Swede Granqvist, 25, is regarded as one of the best defenders in the Dutch league and has managed to regain his best form following a disappointing spell with Wigan back in 2007.
Fulham boss Mark Hughes is planning a £2 million offer for Granqvist in January.
