Fulham captain Tom Cairney has called on their summer signings to buy into their culture after defeat to Crystal Palace.

The Fulham dressing room has a very different look to it this season but Cairney says it is imperative they do not lose the team spirit that helped get them out of the Championship last season.

“That is the trick and the balance that we have got to get right," said the Fulham captain. “That is our job. We went on an unbeaten run of 23 games last season and we have to keep that team spirit as well as adding the new players, which is sometimes difficult.

“It is not a worry for me. If you are going to do anything in the Premier League then you need to get more quality in and that is what we have done.

“It is down to us to make sure we stay tight like last season. In tight games, it is team spirit that gets you over the line."
