Fulham boss Felix Magath is considering a shock return for Mahamadou Diarra.
The Mirror says Diarra's contract expired last summer, but he was training at Motspur Park in a bid to prove his fitness, only to be bombed out by former boss Rene Meulensteen.
However, the 32-year-old has resumed full sessions with the Fulham first team after Magath took charge a fortnight ago.
The German chief has turned to the club's old heads as he bids to steep them to safety, with Brede Hangeland and Scott Parker having been restored to the side.
