Fulham boss Martin Jol wants to bring Chris Hughton to Craven Cottage.
The London Evening Standard says Jol may seek to persuade former Newcastle United manager Hughton to ignore overtures from Cardiff and join him as assistant coach at the Cottage.
The two men having worked well together during three years at Spurs.
Hughton is a free agent and currently considering his options.
