Fulham boss Martin Jol feels 2012 could be the year of the Weasel!

Ruiz, 26, was bizarrely nicknamed Weasel for his ball control while growing up at Liga Deportiva Alajuense back home in Costa Rica.

Boss Jol said: "He is capable of scoring 10 goals but he is not a striker, he is an offensive midfielder.

"He is getting fitter so you will see, you will enjoy his game. Lots of big clubs fancied him.

"Ruiz was a legend over in Holland."
