Fulham boss Martin Jol admits he tried to sign Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.
Jol says he'll continue shopping in the Bundesliga market.
"I got players I know very cheap, Riether was cheap, [Mladen] Petric was the cheapest out of the three, he cost nothing but if you go over there and want to buy another [Edin] Dzeko you would have to play £25million, that is not what we did. We tried to get them on the cheap but they are still good players.
"I get enormous satisfaction from that. We spent six or seven million and we can sell for a lot of money and we are still as good."
