Fulham boss Jol calm on Catania's Lopez

Fulham manager Martin Jol has distanced himself from Catania striker Maxi Lopez.

The sporting director of the Italian club, Pietro Lo Monaco, suggested earlier this week that the Cottagers were keen on the Argentine forward but Jol says the player has never been a Fulham target.

"They say there is no smoke without fire but our intention was never to buy Maxi Lopez," said Jol.

"We have got an interest in good players but in a different sort of scenario."
