Fulham boss Martin Jol says they took a gamble on signing Pavel Pogrebnyak from Stuttgart.
His long-term future uncertain after he only switched until the end of the season from Stuttgart.
Jol said: "I feel we took a risk but after one session you saw he was a good player for us.
"He made an immediate impression on the players and gave us a boost.
"After the first game I said one game doesn't make a summer - and then again after the second game. But hopefully he will continue to score goals for us.""You can't sign a player on a short deal and then sit down after one week to discuss a new one. But hopefully he will stay here - you always need players who can make a difference.
