Fulham boss Martin Jol admits they've missed out on coach Rene Meulensteen.
The former Manchester United coach is understood to have rejected the chance to hook up with his fellow countryman in SW6 and is in advanced negotiations to become the technical director at the Qatar Football Association.
"I spoke about Rene before but he went to Russia with Anzhi and was sacked. He was available but then he went to Dubai," Jol told the Fulham Chronicle.
"I was looking because you try to have a good mix of qualities to add to what we've got.
"If there's an opportunity [to bring someone in] we will think about it."
