Fulham boss Mark Hughes is ready to make an offer for West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green.
The People says Mark Schwarzer still expects to join Arsenal in a £3.5 million deal before the season starts. And if the Australian completes his move then Green is wanted by the West Londoners.
He has been on their list all summer while club officials have also been eyeing Rangers stopper Alan McGregor and quietly hoped they may be able to snap up David James on a free transfer.
But James has now joined Bristol City and Hughes is keen on Green as he would prefer a proven Premier League keeper between the sticks when Fulham kick off the new campaign against Bolton.
