Fulham boss Hodgson would take Olympics job

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson admits he'd welcome the chance to take charge of the Great Britain Olympics team for 2012.

After defeat to Aston Villa, Hodgson said: "I was a major contender to be England manager, but I've never had the job. If you are asking whether there has been any contact, the answer is no.

"It's very nice to hear. It's a long way off and it would be an honour for anyone who gets the job. If it ever came about that I was offered the job, I'd be happy to take it. But I know nothing more."
