Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is eager to secure skipper Danny Murphy to a new contract.

The Sun says the former Spurs and Liverpool midfielder's contract is up in the summer.

Boss Hodgson wants to avoid losing another established star after selling Jimmy Bullard to Hull last month and has persuaded his board to open talks with Murphy, 31, over a new deal.
