Fulham boss Hodgson unhappy with Blackburn treatment

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson remains unhappy with how he was treated in his time in charge of Blackburn Rovers.

Hodgson took charge at Rovers in June 1997 and led them into the UEFA Cup in his first season at the helm.

But he was axed in November 1998 after a poor start to the campaign.

Hodgson insisted: "I do not feel I have anything to prove to Blackburn. I think I was unlucky to be sacked given the injuries we had that season.

"I feel maybe I do not get much credit for turning a team which avoided relegation into a side which got into the UEFA Cup.

"I drove expectations up and thanks to the injury situation I paid for it with my job."

Fulham are six points adrift of safety and Hodgson said: "We've been trying to improve the mentality of the players."
