Fulham boss Hodgson targets Southampton youngster Lallana

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is keen on Southampton youngster Adam Lallana.

The Sunday Express says Southampton's young England U-21 midfielder Lallana is wanted by Fulham, though is also attracting interest from Stoke, Wigan and Wolves.

Saints don't want to lose their prize asset, who has scored 12 goals from midfield.

But Hodgson is understood to be prepared to pay around £1.5m for a player he believes could take over eventually from skipper Danny Murphy.

And Lallana, 21, who came up through Southampton's academy, is anxious to follow in the footsteps of Gareth Bale and Theo Walcott, who both moved to London from St Mary's, rather than move further north.
