Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is ready to offer £3 million for Wigan Athletic midfielder Paul Scharner.
The Mirror says Hodgson has tried for Scharner twice before only to be turned down, but now the shrewd manager looks set to succeed with Latics chief Roberto Martinez in the mood to wheel and deal.
And Scharner, Wigan's most experienced Premier League player, could jump at the move after watching so many of his team-mates move on in the past couple of years.
Fulham have the money to pay the fee and meet Scharner's personal demands, with Hodgson also possibly having Europa League football to offer him in the second half of the season.
