Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has his fingers crossed in regards to an injury sustained by attacking midfielder Clint Dempsey in Sunday's 2-0 away loss to Blackburn Rovers.
The USA international limped off the pitch in the second half of the English Premier League clash at Ewood Park and the club fears he has suffered damage to his knee that may keep him on the sidelines for a considerable amount of time.
"Clint will be scanned on Monday but we feel it might be a posterior cruciate knee ligament which would be very bad for us and he would be out for a while," Hodgson said.
"It's a concern up front because Clint Dempsey is very useful for us but now with both he and Bobby (Zamora) out it makes us a bit weaker in that area than we'd like to be."
Both Hodgson and USA national team coach Bob Bradley will be keeping close tabs on Dempsey's scan results as he is such an important player for both club and country.
