Fulham boss Lawrie Sanchez wants to see consistency from Danny Murphy through the season before deciding whether to reward the midfielder with a new contract.
Murphy, 30, has scored twice since arriving from Tottenham on transfer deadline day and he is keen to extend his one-year deal at Craven Cottage.
"All current players' contracts are reviewed on an ongoing basis," said boss Sanchez. "Danny is here and has done well in the games that he has played.
"I'd like to see him over the course of the season - if we want to keep Danny we will keep him."
