Fulham remain keen on Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes.
The Mirror says Fulham and Blackburn Rovers are locked in a £6million battle for Rhodes.
The Premier League Cottagers have made an official bid for Scotland striker Rhodes - who was the English game's top scorer last season - after trailing him for months.
Boss Martin Jol, who fears losing forward Clint Dempsey to Liverpool, tabled a package that started with a guaranteed £2m and rose to £6m in installments - only to see it rejected.
Now, after being told that striker Leon Best, bought from Newcastle for £3m just weeks ago, is to miss six months with a knee injury, Blackburn have also made an inquiry.
Rovers are set to make a £5m offer, which could rise by a further £1m.
