Fulham are attempting to trump bigger clubs for Derby County starlet Will Hughes.

The Mirror says Fulham boss Martin Jol wants to beat Arsenal to the signing of Hughes in January.

Arsene Wenger tried to make Hughes a young Gunner in the summer. However Fulham want to step in and offer the kid first-team football.

Derby would probably be unable to turn down a bid of around £4milllion.
