Fulham attacker Dempsey proud of landmark brace

Fulham attacker Clint Dempsey was delighted with his brace in victory over Bolton.

The US international put the Whites ahead with a spectacular 15th minute flying volley before doubling the advantage just after half-time, to take his personal tally in the world's toughest league competition to 33, leapfrogging the 32 achieved by former Craven Cottage heroes Steed Malbranque and Brian McBride.

"It's a great honour and, of course, it's very pleasing," he told fulhamfc.com post-match.

"I found about the record when I read it in the programme before the game. I saw the statistic that if I'd have scored against Wolves it would have tied me with McBride and Steed Malbranque, so it was great to get two tonight and be amongst that company. Hopefully I can keep scoring goals now."
