Fulham add to Talent Identification team

Fulham have added to the staff of their new Talent Identification Department.

Eugene Dwaah has been appointed full-time work and explained in the Fulham match programme: "I have come in under David Burke who is the Talent Identification Manager, who in turn works under Technical Director, Les Reed.

"I work alongside Adrian McElligott, the Club's Chief Youth Scout and my remit is to assess players in the Under-7 to Under-11 age bracket. I have close ties to our development centres throughout London and have a strategic overview of the progress being made by players in these centres and the way we can attract young lads to our centres as opposed to other clubs.

"We're going through a review process at the moment to gain an understanding of the methods used in each centre. I hail from North West London where our methods could be different from another centre say in South London," said Dwaah. "We want to instil a good practice guide for all the centres and work on potential weaknesses so that we have a plan as to where we want to go in the next three of four years."

Speaking after the appointment, Fulham's Development Centre Manager, Geoff Noonan, spoke of the importance of the role that Dwaah will undertake during his tenureship at Fulham.

"The new department will allow us to become much more pro-active in setting up tournaments and talent identification days throughout London," revealed Noonan. "It will help us have the raw materials to find the talented youngsters and bring them into Fulham to develop and nurture their talent."
