The vice-president of Arabian Gulf League outfit Fujairah has cooled rumours of a move for Crystal Palace striker Marouane Chamakh.

Sultan Al Shara, the vice president of the club, was photographed with Chamakh in Dubai and that led to speculation linking Moroccan abroad.

"Marouane Chamakh is an old friend and I met him a couple of days earlier in Dubai," Al Shara declared.

"It was just a friendly, informal meeting, but unfortunately some people on social media have interpreted this as some sort of negotiations to bring Chamakh here. That is not true."
