Fabricio Fuentes has signed a new 12-month contract with Villarreal.

The experienced Argentine defender will stay with the Yellow Submarines until June 2010.

"I am very happy," said Fuentes, "and I have always said that my priority was to stay here."

Fuentes' deal comes after similar agreements for Robert Pires and Javi Venta this week.
