Frustrated Liverpool boss Rodgers to move on after transfer window

Brendan Rodgers had a hint of frustration in his words after Liverpool lost 2-0 to Arsenal today.

The Reds boss saw the loan exit of Andy Carroll to West Ham United with the Anfield club unable to bring in a new striker before the close of the transfer window.

It leaves Rodgers with just Luis Suarez and Fabio Borini as recognized attackers and following the lacklustre defeat, the former Swansea City manager suggested there was some frustration although he did prefer to try and put a positive spin on things.

"That's something I can't control now," Rodgers told Sky Sports regarding the transfer business.

"We had an opportunity to do that, but we have got what we've got.

"The players have given everything, so I can't blame them. We put the group out there to do the best they can, and that's what they've done. We'll assess it again in January.

"It doesn't matter. It's gone and I'm focused on the players that are here and getting the best out of them that I possibly can."
