Confusion reigns over the future of Inter Milan striker Adriano.

Corriere dello Sport says close friends have concerns that Adriano intends to announce his retirement and are desperately trying to convince him to play on. The striker doesn't want to play for Inter and has also rejected an approach from Flamengo.

Meanwhile, Adriano's agent, Gilmar Rinaldo, has denied the claims: "He still wants to play and put things right with Inter."

Adriano is expected in Milan either Monday or Tuesday.
