After a shaky first half England came from behind with an improved performance after the break to defeat Denmark 2-1 in the Parken Stadium. England had not won away to Scandinavian opposition for eight games, a run stretching back to 1992. But tonight they deserved their 2-1 win against Denmark who themselves have now gone five friendly games since a win.
Fabio Capello made nine changes from the side which lost at home to France in England's last international in November and it seemed to have backfired when the Danes took an early lead in the 7th minute.
England were caught out at the back as Liverpool's Daniel Agger was allowed a free header to put the host's in front.
But the Three Lions responded almost immediately as Aston Villa's record signing Darren Bent equalised just two minutes later with the simplest of finishes from a Theo Walcott centre.
England's defence continued to give cause for concern but after the break it was the visitor's who took control with an impressive display which was capped by a winning goal from another Villa player, substitute Ashley Young.
Glen Johnson set up the winger for his first international goal as England then played possession football with Denmark running out of ideas.
Dennis Rommedahl had one site of goal for the Danes but Joe Hart made a smart save in a second half full of encouragement for England.
