Brad Friedel has urged Aston Villa not to panic after their dismal opening day defeat to Wigan Athletic.
"We should have been a lot better than we were," the goalkeeper said. "I don't think it had anything to do with new players, there were a lot of different things.
"Some displays are so bad that you just write it off, you don't even address it there are so many things. You are banging your head against a wall for nothing.
"In other matches you can address certain instances. I'm sure we'll be sitting down to watch the video to see which it was. It was a great strike from Hugo Rodallega. It was one of those wonder strikes he'll have once a season.
"But those are the things you have to put up with in the Premier League. That shouldn't change the whole face of the game.
"It's not alarming, it's the first game. There are still 37 games to go, it's not do or die."
